The hospital was acquired by Spire Hospital Group in 2007 and has been significant developed since that time. Today the hospital has 113 beds and four operating theatres. The clinic also has a base across the Seven Bridge in Newport Wales. St Joseph’s hospital is a purpose build independent private hospital located just off the M4. The hospital was originally opened in 1946 by the Sisters of St Joseph and has been the principal hospital facility in the Gwent area since that time.
Hospital has recently been taken over and is set to become one of the best equipped Private Hospitals in the UK with the new owners planning to invest in the region of £7m to achieve the goal of Excellence in all aspects of Healthcare. Work on the outside of the Hospital has already commenced with an exciting and new design and layout to the front of the hospital, smartening up of the paintwork and replacement signage. The biggest investment will be on the inside of the hospital with the Imaging Department being rebuilt to house on-site state-of-the-art CT and MRI scanners, along with new x-ray and fluroscopy equipment.
