Patients with Medical Insurance

Surgical fees in the private practice setting are charged for each event. This includes each out-patient visit, injection and or surgical procedure. Additional fees are charged by the anaesthetists, any physiotherapist or other practitioner. The hospital will also charge for its own services including the provision of any X-rays, MRI scans, blood tests or in-patient costs. Separate accounts will be rendered by each practitioner and the hospital. An explanation of the fees for medical services from the Federation of Independent Medical practitioners can be found at http://www.fipo.org.uk/resources/fees.pdf.

A general scale of fees for Mr. Johnson and his anaesthetists can be found on the site of the medical Insurance Company Western provident Association WPA http://www.wpa.org.uk/medical/medicalfees.aspx?heading_id=16

In accordance with standard practice the fees are due from the patient. The fees may be paid on their behalf by a medical insurance company of third party. The fees are due on receipt of the invoice and interest and additional costs may be incurred for late payment beyond 14 days of the invoice date. Outpatient fees will be raised at the time of the initial consultation and for each subsequent visit. Additional fees will be raised where outpatient procedures are undertaken in accordance with standard practice. Although a quotation will be provided prior to surgery the nature of surgery may at time be unpredictable. Standard increased fees are charged for secondary or additional procedures in combination with the primary procedure where this necessitated  additional procedures, complexity or time. Where unexpected procedures, complexity or complications are encountered in accordance with standard practice additional codes and charges may on some occasions arise.
